Nick Hoeffner
Nick is a PhD student in the Chemical and Systems Biology program. He is interested in the cell biological forces that influence the rearrangement of functional modules over time. He intends to use experimental evolution of novel signaling pathways in budding yeast to address this question. Nick received his B.S. in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University followed by his Master’s in Genome and Systems Biology from National Taiwan University. During his Master’s, he worked with Jun-Yi Leu at Academia Sinica on projects involving screening yeast essential genes for Hsp90-buffered mutations and performing deep mutational scanning on the cell cycle regulator CDC28.
