Sofia Guajardo Beskid
Sofia is a Biology (ecology/evolution track) PhD student rotating in the Petrov Lab, and is generally interested in the genetic and evolutionary mechanisms of adaptation and diversification. Currently, she is investigating how natural selection affects various regions of the genome across large evolutionary timescales, specifically that across the Drosophila phylogenetic timescale. Sofia received her B.S. in Environmental Science at the University of Texas at Austin where she worked on coral genomics.
