Esther Cao

Esther is currently a senior at Palo Alto High School. She is a research intern in the Petrov lab (Summer 2017-2018) and is studying the mechanisms that underlie adaptation, and how protein-folding chaperones influence evolutionary dynamics. In the future, she also hopes to explore how machine learning/artificial intelligence can be applied to biology to help analyze data. She is being mentored by the postdoctoral fellow Kerry Geiler-Samerotte.
