Clare and Shaili’s post a paper on environmental memory
Organisms in nature are inevitably subject to environmental fluctuations. Clare and Shaili show in the biorxiv preprint that fitness of lineage in a fluctuating environment is not, as might be sensibly assumed, the time-average of its fitness over the sequence of static conditions it encounters.
